Stance: Very upright and tall stance, with just a very slight bend in his knees. Keeps his hands head high and his arms and shoulder height, with both his arms and hands held close to his body. Uses a big leg lift into a close stance as his trigger.

Approach: Aggressive hitter, who isn’t afraid to swing early and often. Likes the ball down and in or up and away. Has relatively strong pitch recognition skills, but needs to work on his strike zone awareness, patience and plate discipline. Is much more successful when he shows patience at the plate and waits for his pitch.

Hitting Ability: Has a smooth line drive stroke, that can get a bit long at times. Pulls his hands in well and does a good job of turning on pitches down and in. Not a high average hitter, typically around the .260 mark. Is an extremely streaky hitter. Hits the ball to all fields well, but needs to improve his situational hitting. Strikes out a tonne and doesn’t walk very much. Hits lefties much better than he hits righties, and has shown the ability to dominate lefties at times.

Power: Slightly above average power, strictly to the pull field. Will rarely go yard to the opposite field. Capable of hitting around 15 homeruns annually. His power does play in all ballparks, but clearly played up in a ballpark like Fenway Park last season.

Running: Not a threat on the bases, but does have average speed. Not going to attempt more than a handful of steals per year, with mediocre success rates. Not very aggressive on the bases and always seems to play it safe. Does show quickness on the defensive side of the ball.

Fielding: Versatile outfielder who is capable of playing all three spots. Fits best in a corner outfield spot where he profiles as a slightly above average defender (he profiles as below average in center field). Has solid range in all directions, and does a great job of making catches on the run. Real strong defender from side to side. Has fringe average arm strength with slightly above average accuracy.

Physical Description: Athletic frame with good weight distribution and muscle definition. Muscular chest and legs, must tighten his core. No need to add or subtract weight currently, but he must monitor his midsection as his frame is conducive to adding bad weight around his core.

Projection: A solid outfielder who should hold down a starting job on most teams, worst case scenario he is an elite bench player. None of his tools stand out but he is a five-tool player who can do everything well. Can carry a team when he goes on one of his hot streaks. Versatile player who can handle all three outfield positions and who can hit anywhere in the lineup.
